We turn money into life-hours using your monthly income. A month is counted as 720 hours (30 days × 24 hours) — your real time, sleep and rest included, not just hours at the office. That way a purchase is measured against the life it actually costs you, instead of an idealized "working hours" number.
Tempy already ships with a set of ready-made categories that cover most spending. Custom ones are capped at 5 on purpose: the point is a quick glance at where your time goes, not a bookkeeping system with dozens of buckets. A short list keeps logging fast and your stats easy to read.
